Shoulder Ball Lense (2007), by Naomi Filmer: Exhibited at “Out of the Ordinary, The Spectacular Craft” at the V&A Museum in London. As a response to the theme, Naomi created an installation presenting 10 parts of the human anatomy as jewels in their own right. Each body part is set into glass spheres, which effectively function as a lens to focus on extraordinary details of ourselves.

Felix Gonzalez-Torres: Untitled (Loverboy), 1990
Gonzalez-Torres created the work while his lover was dying from AIDS. The artist placed a stack of pale blue paper on the gallery floor and invited visitors to take a sheet as they walked by. As each day of the exhibition passed, the stack of paper gradually diminished. The pale blue sheets slowly peeling away were a touching allegory of the slowly disappearing body and mind of Gonzalez-Torres lover. The artist said “I wanted to make something that would disappear completely.”
